1. Ticket Purchase Limits
In addition to limiting the number of a specific ticket that can be purchased, you can now set limits across multiple types of tickets. For example, let’s say you have a limited number of tables for sale. These tables have unique viewing perspectives, so they are listed individually. Each table seats 4 people, and you have 10 tables available. This results in a total capacity of 40 people. For this example, we want to limit the overall purchase of tables to 2 per customer.
- To create a purchase group, first create and save all of your tickets.
- Once the event has been saved, click on Edit and Purchase Limits.
- On the next screen, select Add Purchase Limit. You will see a list of all your tickets.
- Select the tickets you wish to include in the purchase group. In our scenario, we just want to limit table purchases. The purchase of 2 tables results in 8 people total, so it is important to set the purchase limit at 8 to accommodate the unit quantity.
- Save your changes, and now customers will be restricted to 2 tables during checkout. For other tickets on the event, those purchases will be limited by the Max Buy Quantity that you set at the ticket level.
2. Ticket Form Enhancements
If you create tickets with a Unit Quantity over 1 – meaning more than one barcode is generated with each ticket purchased – you can now capture data at the individual ticket level. This is especially beneficial for custom form questions that apply to each ticketholder. If you choose to request information at the ticket level, we will automatically duplicate the question to match the unity quantity of that ticket.
3. New Security Requirements on Purchases Over $500
In an effort to reduce chargebacks due to fraud, we have introduced some additional security features. Moving forward, any purchase over $500 will prompt the customer to verify their identity with a code that will be texted to their cell phone. This additional step will shift liability back to the customer, which will prevent them from claiming that the transaction was made fraudulently. This extra security feature will only apply to transactions made on the public site, so Box Office transactions will not be affected.
