The primary feature in this release is the ability to delay ticket delivery on specific events. You can configure this at the time you create an event, or you can enable it on an existing event at any time. Events that have a high sellout risk tend to be targeted more often by scalpers and ticket brokers. Restricting access to the tickets until the day of the event can discourage this behavior because it makes reselling more difficult. You can customize how far in advance tickets can be accessed by your attendees. Currently, the minimum is 4 hours and the maximum is set at 48 hours before the Event Start Time.
Adding Delayed Ticket Delivery to an Event
1. You will find this option under the Event Details page during event setup.
2. To enable, simply toggle yes under Delayed Ticket Delivery. Then you can set the number of hours prior to the Event Start Time when tickets can be electronically downloaded.
The Customer Experience
Customers will complete their purchase in the same manner as any other event. They will also receive the same confirmation email. However, when they try to download their tickets, they will see the following message:
Tickets will automatically become available for attendees to download once you are within the availability window. In this example we delayed delivery until 6 hours prior to the Event Start Time, which is 12:30 pm on the day of the event. Attendees can access their order from their confirmation email or by using the order lookup feature on Stubs.net
