Stubs.net is excited to release a safe and secure way for attendees to resell their tickets! Attendees will now be able to resell their tickets to a 3rd party without having to handle the payment transfer. When the transaction takes place, the original seller will receive a refund and the buyer will be issued new tickets that are guaranteed to be valid. The seller’s original tickets will be voided after the new buyer completes the purchase. In simple terms you can think of this as a simultaneous refund and new purchase, which nets out to the same revenue and sales tax.
In order to honor the pricing set by our Venues and Event Organizes, we will not allow tickets to be sold over face value. At this time there is no cost to the seller to utilize this feature, but a small convenience fee will be passed on to the Buyer to cover credit card fees. Here are some additional details to note:
As the Event Organizer, you can enable or disable this feature. This option is listed under your Organizer Settings and is toggled Off by default. You can change that at any time, and it will apply to all of your events.
Refunds to ticket Sellers will not be processed until the resale transaction is complete. This means you will not see any changes or discrepancies in your reporting. You will see a record of the refunds, but your net sales tax and revenue dollars will not change.
Sellers can send tickets to a specific Buyer. If no Buyer is identified, we will advertise their tickets on our website once that ticket type is sold out. No Seller information will be visible. If a ticket has sold out and there are verified resale tickets available, we will present all options to potential Buyers.
Because the original tickets will be voided at the time of the resale transaction, you will not have to worry about both tickets being scanned.
A new order type of Safe Resale has been added to identify orders made by the new purchaser. The order type is visible when you view the order details.
Process Overview
If you enable the Safe Resale feature, the customer’s confirmation screen will now show an option to resell tickets.
We will guide the Seller through the process of making their tickets available for purchase. If they list a specific Buyer, we will email that person a link where they can complete the transaction. If the Seller does not have a Buyer lined up, we’ll post the tickets for sale once that ticket type sells out. They can select which tickets they want to sell, but any tickets posted together will have to sell as a bundle.
In this scenario the VIP ticket type has sold out. If anyone has listed tickets for sale, there will be an option called Resale Tickets. All available tickets will be displayed. If the customer selects one of the options, they’ll be taken through the regular checkout process.
Once the purchase has been made, the Seller’s refund will be processed. Any tickets on their original order that were sold will now be flagged as ‘resold.’ None of your sales counts or revenue figures will be impacted.
